Dear Me,
You’ll never be smart enough, thin enough, curvy enough, confident enough, successful enough, beautiful enough, or talented enough. Your breasts will either be too large or too small. You’ll be too confident or too shy; too experienced or inexperienced; too loud; a know-it-all or not worldly enough; annoying; needy; too independent. Face it. You will never be enough for… him, for her, for them. You will never, never be enough… until you are finally enough for yourself.
You’ve got to stop letting the perceptions or feelings of others dictate your enoughness, your worth. We left that village a long time ago.
LOOK. AT. YOU.
You are a beast. You are so strong, so smart. You can handle a boardroom or a bar fight. You’re a total boss. You’re funny, flirty, soft, kind, determined, witty, and extremely competent. You are a loving parent and friend. You love your family with fierce protectiveness and yet allow them space to grow and take their own shape. The body God gave you is as strong as an ox and as soft as a kitty. Your eyes wrinkle in the corners from a life well-lived, hard-loved, and often laughed. You have the love and respect of people whom you love and respect. You fill your own cup and have ample to share with others.
So do not, not now, and never again, tell me that you are not enough. You are MORE than enough. You just sit your ass down in all your enoughness and let the world rise to you.
Love,
Me
P.S. You’re gorgeous.
